Mission Statement
Associated Black Charities is a public foundation that facilitates the creation of measurably healthier and wealthier communities throughout the State of Maryland through responsible leadership and philanthropic investment.
Through its More in the Middle Initiative and its health disparities work, ABC acts as a convener, advocate and grantmaker to address issues impacting Maryland communities.
Convener
ABC convenes people, groups and stakeholders with the power to address issues that impact the region. At ABC we convene organizations across the public, private and non-profit sectors to impact health and economic outcomes in Maryland.
Advocate
ABC is an advocate of research and public policy on issues such as higher education, workforce and career advancement, and the health equity that affect African Americans and the broader community.
Grantmaker
ABC provides grants to non-profit organizations in support of projects and initiatives that work toward better health and wealth outcomes for people, families and children.
Grant funding is provided to non-profit organizations working in the following areas:

* Higher Education
* Workforce Development/Career Training and Advancement
* Business and Economic Development
* Asset Building and Financial Management
* Health Disparities
