An Agent for Change
Associated Black Charities employs a number of efforts to empower individuals and communities to build a better future including:
Faith and Financial Fitness Workshops – working with faith organizations we provide financial education and counseling to residents with a menu of services, information and financial fitness tools including homeownership counseling, foreclosure prevention, budget and credit management and college saving.
Relationships Matter – seeks to increase the number of jobs offered by African American owned businesses by increasing their revenues through intentional connections to influential social and professional networks that can provide them access to greater business opportunities.
Retaining Talent/Board Pipeline– nurtures African American and Latino professionals in the region by increasing their civic engagement, access to influential leaders and greater economic advancement opportunities; also nurturing them as philanthropists that will continue to give of their time, talent and treasures to make a difference.
Workforce Development/Putting Men to Work – seeks to obtain employment for low income and low-wage workers, first by preparing them and then linking them to employment and career opportunities.
College Completion – provide support/guidance and information to successfully retain first and second year students in college.
